Living on a lake is scenic, fun, and provides endless recreational opportunities. Surprisingly, there are many private lakes in eastern Nebraska that offer sandy beaches, excellent fishing, and friendly communities with homes designed for lake living. Some of the features that you should look for in a lake home are large windows that view the lake, outdoor kitchen area, large patio with shaded areas for conversation, dock and boat lift, large storage area near the water for lake toys, and outdoor showers.
If you’ve never lived on a lake and are apprehensive about making the move, please call me. I’d love to tell you in person what a great experience it’s been for our family. There is nothing more relaxing than the sound of water any time of the year. Lake homes are wonderful for entertaining family and friends. Our lake home has been where our family gathers for weekends and holidays, providing many great memories for all of us that will last a lifetime.
What two buyers want from a lake can be completely different. As our population ages, there is an increasing desire among buyers for quiet lakes that do not allow gas motors. It used to be that these quiet, “no-wake” lakes had less appeal, but they are now attracting buyers that would not have considered them 10 or 20 years ago. There are many lakes within 45 minutes from the Omaha and Lincoln metropolitan areas that offer a continuum of no-wake living to jet skis and wake surfing.
Contact me any time to help you with your lake property search. I have compiled information on nearly every lake in eastern Nebraska that is sortable by lake size, HOA dues, boating activities allowed, lot availability, typical home prices, and much much more!
